Week Four
posted by Liam | 20 November 2009
This week we’ve been left to our own bodily devices as Scott, our movement maestro, has been otherwise engaged.
However, I believe he would be proud of us for keeping the boot-camp spirit alive and kicking. Plus, he’s sure to be impressed by any newly-formed muscles presented to him upon his return next week.
At the same time we’ve been focussing on injecting a little more detail into the scenes and polishing away at all the songs with the guidance of Justin, our Pianist/magician/master of ceremonies/Wedding singer.
The oldsters have been locked away in a secret room practising their magic tricks, while my self and Amaka have been working hard on exploring the Prince and Cinderella’s journeys. As for the Yargs (John, Ery and Julie) - well, they’re becoming more grotesque and scary by the day.
Other notable events include Julie and Rupert beginning a colossal war of words during tea breaks in the form of an epic and neverending game of scrabble, but we’re hoping we can restore peace to the green room soon.
We’ve also been given a sneaky peak at some of the set, which is currently gaining stature in the Weston theatre. All I can say is it’s a lot bigger than I thought it would be. It’s all very exciting.
At the end of week 4, we’re all well and truly submerged in the deep end of Philip Porter's world, or “Porterland”, as our esteemed director calls it.
Only one more week until the tech. Arrrrrggggghhh!
