Plays written for your class to perform

The plays created for Class Acts, the Unicorn’s annual festival of theatre celebrating the talent of primary school children in London, have been published in a single collection by Oberon.

Class Acts: New plays for Children to Act comprises Oladipo Agboluaje’s The Wish Collector, Lin Coghlan’s The Acme Thunderer and Philip Osment’s Of the Terrifying Events on the Hamelin Estate.

When the plays were commissioned by the Unicorn for the 2008 festival, the playwrights faced a tough brief: to produce three 20-minute plays to be performed by a cast of thirty year six pupils.

Their work has now been performed by two generations of Class Acts participants, and the collection will allow many more children in London and beyond to perform plays written with them in mind.

Class Acts: New plays for children to Act (ISBN 9781840029338) is available now direct from the Unicorn (contact jenny.maddox@unicorntheatre.com) and from booksellers including the National Theatre bookshop and Amazon and direct from the publishers.
