Arts Partner schools – Tower Hamlets

This partnership will allow us to develop close relationships with six Tower Hamlets primary schools to explore the potential for learning provided through a trip to the Unicorn.

The Unicorn education department has created activities that support teachers in their visits to the theatre, offering ways to prepare a class to come and to maximise the potential for learning after a visit. We will offer the six participating schools workshops, teacher resources and CPD training to support them in embedding a visit to the theatre it their ongoing work in the classroom. Teachers will receive help in the planning and delivery of units of work that address creative teaching priorities and link to key objectives across the curriculum.

Through this project we aim to develop a dialogue with headteachers and teachers about the role of the arts and cultural activities in a child’s education, and how we can support schools’ priorities.
