Youth Theatre Easter workshops
During the Easter holidays, Unicorn Youth Theatre groups extend their experience and knowledge of theatre by working with international and UK based theatre companies and practitioners. Over the last few years, this has included working with Improbable Theatre Company, Frantic Assembly and Told by an Idiot.
Alongside this, the Youth Theatre works with the Unicorn's artistic department to ensure that the work we produce for young people always has a young person’s perspective at its heart. This has involved working on the development of new Unicorn plays Billy the Kid and The Red Fortress.
This Easter (2009) saw the groups work around the building in unique and interesting ways thanks to two days working with Punchdrunk Theatre Company. Working with lots of new ideas exploring movement, space and audience interaction – the groups transformed the front of house spaces into promenade theatre spaces.
The groups once again worked with the Artistic Team on two upcoming Unicorn shows – Cinderella and The London Eye Mystery, helping Unicorn’s Artistic Director and Associate Director (Literary) with ideas and suggestions for the shows.
