Interview with Felicia, a youth theatre member

What does the Unicorn mean to you?
It means so much. It means every week I do something fun, and I can’t wait until the
next session. There’s always something you can take part in. If you’re not confident
in one thing, there’s always something else you can try.

What made you want to join?
I first came to the Summer Youth Theatre Project in 2006. I had heard it was really
fun and that there were a lot of young people involved, so I really wanted to take part.

What do you like most about being part of the Youth Theatre?
I love doing the sharings and end of term performances, and there is always
something new to learn every week.

What has been your favourite moment?
Going up to Borough Market as part of the Summer Youth Theatre Project last year
was great. We were trying to encourage lots of people to come to see the
performance. The ice cream man didn’t come though - he said he would and he
didn’t!

What have been your favourite three activities  with the Youth Theatre?
Three Summer Youth Theatre Projects - one for every year I have been here!
But also the Easter projects and our sharings, especially our Duck! Sharing.

Do you think you have changed since joining the Youth Theatre?
Yes. I’ve definitely developed my confidence, not just in performing but in
communicating with people and new kids in school.

Would you recommend the Youth Theatre to your friends?
Yes, absolutely.
