Interact

Unicorn Education develops programmes of work to support and enrich school visits to the theatre.  Whilst we believe strongly in the power of the theatre experience alone for young audiences, we also know how valuable a stimulus our productions can be for further learning in a classroom setting.

Our emphasis is on creativity and the use of the imagination in teaching and learning. We can offer links into the curriculum which will open up the potential of each show. Working through experiential arts activities, we aim to increase selfesteem, confidence, speaking and listening skills and co-operation, while at the same time connecting with a diverse range of subject matters.

Relevance to curriculum subjects may include: drama, storytelling, poetry, oral and written literacy, maths, visual arts, design and technology, geography, history, science, nature, PSHE and citizenship.

Schools’ Workshops

Available to support a variety of productions, these offer participatory models of interacting with the subject matter of the play, drawing out themes and exploring in-depth issues of concern to the pupils.
Our workshops are designed specifically for each production and work predominantly through arts activities: drama, storytelling, poetry, music and visual arts.
