Unicorn Education works predominantly, though not exclusively, with the primary education sector. Our substantial residencies in schools support and reflect the Unicorn’s artistic programme. We also devise stand-alone projects that follow their own line of enquiry and draw on a range of artforms to explore socially relevant questions. All our work is underpinned by our commitment to celebrating the diversity of backgrounds and cultures of London children and fostering their creativity, imagination and understanding.
Our work has two distinct but interconnected strands: educational drama and theatre, and we continually reflect on and explore new ways to harness the potential for learning, personal development and enjoyment for children in and through the arts.
Projects are usually free to schools, or at a nominal cost. The Unicorn’s work with schools receives generous support from public funding bodies, trusts and foundations and corporate partners.
