About Unicorn

Unicorn Theatre is one of the leading producers of professional theatre for young people in Britain. Founded in 1947, our mission is to create amazing shows for young people which are fun, challenging and exciting – shows which rise to the challenge of young people's imaginations.

We believe that theatre for young people should have the same high standards as theatre for adults, and we’re committed to providing young people with opportunities to learn and play through the arts. Our Artistic Team creates shows that both families and school groups come and enjoy at the theatre, and our Education Team takes projects combining drama, storytelling, music and the visual arts into schools throughout London.

We are now based in our new world-class theatre centre in the heart of London. It is comprised of two theatre spaces (the Weston Theatre and the Clore Theatre), education studio, cafe and other welcoming areas for families and schools. On the south bank of the Thames, this new theatre will enrich the lives of over 100,000 young people, their families and teachers every year. The Unicorn is actually made up of two organisations which work closely together. Caryl Jenner Productions (named after our founder) is known as Unicorn Theatre for young people, because, as she said; "[a Unicorn] is an exciting figure of legend, a thing intangible and uncatchable; he exists only if you believe in him and we feel this is a stimulating idea for young people." Caryl Jenner Productions is the organisation which commissions, produces and markets all the Unicorn’s shows.
