The new £13m Unicorn Theatre is the first ever purpose built professional theatre for children in the UK. The theatre, near Tower Bridge on Tooley Street, Southwark, opened on 1st December 2005.
The Unicorn Theatre building has two theatre spaces inside it. The Weston Theatre is our biggest theatre, and holds about 300 people.
The Clore Theatre (which used to be called the River Theatre) is a smaller space which can seat up to 120 people.
Unicorn Theatre, close to City Hall on the south bank, is destined to become a national cultural flagship and international centre of excellence. It will play to over 100,000 children each year. Unicorn is still actively seeking funding and requires £300,000 to reach its target.
