Behind the Scenes Workshops

The Unicorn also offers Behind the Scenes theatrecraft workshops that are particularly useful for students studying GCSE, BTec and A Level Drama and Theatre Studies as well as the Creative and Media Diploma.

In a full day experience, students watch a morning performance before participating in a two-hour workshop from 1.30pm - 3.30pm. the session allows them to explore the different aspects of creating a production by meeting Unicorn technical and creative staff, starting with a look at the key roles played in bringing a piece of theatre to the stage. This is followed by a tour of the theatre's backstage and technical areas, culminating in a chance for students to take on the tasks of performers, stage management, lighting and sound operators as they run a section of the production on stage.

Behind the Scenes: The Garbage King

Dates: Friday 15 and Friday 22 October.
Cost: £350 (includes show tickets for a class of up to 20 participating students).
