“The Unicorn has set out to bring theatre and story to the young people of London and to encourage in them a passion for both. To have such a centre of excellence is a wonderful boon to the young people, to the young people who need it most, and a unique contribution to the cultural life of this country.”
Michael Morpurgo, Children's Laureate 2003-2005
Unicorn Theatre has been giving the very best live theatre to young people since 1947. We are as committed as ever to making sure young people are not denied the experience of live theatre. With your support we can continue to create excellent theatre for young people and their families for generations to come.
As a registered charity, the Unicorn depends upon generous support to continue to stimulate, educate and inspire young theatre-goers. Our annual grant from the Arts Council England, together with our Box Office income, only provides 65% of our annual budget. The rest is raised by the generosity of individuals, companies, trusts and foundations.... this is where you can help!
£1,000 subsidised 200 school children's first visit to the theatre, with twenty teachers accompanying for free.
£5,000 funds the development of performances for visually impaired or deaf audiences, including pre- and post-show workshops, touch tours and supporting materials.
£10,000 supports our Youth Theatre for a whole term, giving young people the chance to work with theatre professionals and produce an end of term sharing.
£25,000 sponsors a Unicorn production, allowing us to adapt a classic or contemporary children's novel or to commission a brand new play.

“Visiting this stunning new children's theatre near Tower Bridge is an experience in itself. A large glass and chrome building containing - you've got it - a large sparkly white Unicorn! Staff are lovely - really friendly and welcoming. Really first rate."
