These intensive theatre courses, specially designed by the Unicorn, are creative, fun and challenging.

Participants will work with a professional theatre director to hone their theatre-making skills while working towards an original performance on the Unicorn stage. The group will have access to our props and costume store and full support from our technical team who provide lighting and sound for the show. Friends and family are invited to watch the final Friday afternoon performance for free.

The emphasis in these workshops will be on creating a supportive environment where everyone’s contribution is recognised and valued. This course will appeal to young people who enjoy performing, however previous acting experience is not necessary as we tailor the experience to the individual.

Mon 5 – Fri 9 Aug | Ages 11 - 16
Drama Week: Fables for the Future
If you could write your future, how would it look? In this five-day workshop we'll form a new theatre company and work together to create our own fables for the future. Led by the Assistant Director and Movement Director from Philip Pullman's Grimm Tales (2018-19), you'll hone your performance and devising skills and explore improvisation techniques, script work and mult-media. Imagine the future and how the world could be, choose your story and tell it!

Mon 12 – Fri 16 Aug | Ages 7 - 11
Drama Week: Role Models
What do you want to be when you grow up? This creative, fun and challenging workshop will explore who we are and who might like to become. We'll create a show from scratch that uses the theme of role models and imagined futures. With support and guidance from the Director (Unicorn Associate Director Rachel Bagshaw) and our Production team you will develop your performance skills, learn how to shape your ideas into a show and explore your vocal and physical performance styles.
