A unique digital theatre experience for 3 - 8s.

Our very first entirely digitally created theatre experience, Anansi the Spider Re-spun for ages 3 - 8, streamed for free in partnership with The Guardian on our YouTube channel and on The Guardian's website, is available until 10am, Monday 27 July. Watch Episode 1Episode 2 and Episode 3 before it's too late!

We want to end the Anansi the Spider Re-spun series with a party! Inspired by the song from episode 1 of our digital theatre episodes, we asked viewers to send in their responses and to dress up, have fun and show off their best dance moves - and we're so glad we did! THANK YOU to everyone who took part, we absolutely love this joyous compilation.

Inspired by our 2019 five-star hit show, Anansi the Spider, about the infamous mischief-maker and master spinner of yarns, we've adapted these classic West African and Caribbean tales for Unicorn Online. Made with our film partner, Illuminations, we've creatively responded to the current situation - the cast filmed themselves in their own homes so that we can bring them to yours!

This fun online performance, featuring music, song and humour is an exciting new adventure - we hope you enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed making it.

Each episode will be streamed on our YouTube channel and The Guardian's website, with content available to play on demand until Sat 4 July (dates extended by popular demand).

Episode 1: Anansi the Spider Re-spun: Brother Anansi and Brother Snake
Streamed: Sat 30 May, 11am
Available until Sat 4 Jul 8pm

Episode 2: Anansi the Spider Re-spun: Anansi and the Two Dinners
Streamed: Sat 6 Jun, 11am
Available until Sat 4 Jul 8pm

Episode 3: Anansi the Spider Re-spun: Anansi and the Pot of Wisdom
Streamed: Sat 13 Jun, 11am

Along with each episode, there is a free downloadable family activities pack. Below is the pack for episode 1, Brother Anansi and Brother Snake, which is available for 3 weeks from 11am, 30 May.

We've also created a free downloadable teacher resource pack with six sequences of activity that pupils could do at home.

★★★★★ 'The infectious energy infused into every aspect of the story allows the performers to transcend the screen, delivering an unbeatably fun and fresh experience. Moreover, the West African and Caribbean aesthetics the stories arise from seep effortlessly into the piece, championing the cultures and welcoming others to engage with them ... it radiates pride and inclusivity.' A Younger Theatre on episode 1

★★★★★ 'Audibert and his team have seemingly perfected the art of translating theatre into a digital space: whilst other productions simply seek to recreate the theatrical experience as much as possible, Anansi has found a new theatrical language that works far better in these online mediums.' A Younger Theatre on episode 2

★★★★ 'It’s not only a smart move from a venue that has always provided the highest quality theatre to young people – and continues to do so in strained circumstances – but a real joy too.' The Stage

'A joyful piece of storytelling with a charming anti-hero which goes some way to capturing the pleasures of a live show while we wait for the theatres to reopen.' British Theatre Guide
