Mothers who Make is a group committed to supporting creativity in motherhood. They will be running a free creative workshop for mothers who are passionate hobbyists, professional artists or those who would like to unleash their creative side: all art forms are welcome - writers, visual artists, dancers, theatre-makers or craft makers. Through a series of fun exercises and games, explore how the experience of motherhood can enrich and deepen your creative ability - because mothers need to play as much as their children. This workshop is for adults but your children are welcome to join in too.

Age range: Adults (children also welcome).
11am – 12.30pm.
To book: Please call the Box Office on 020 7645 0560.

SIGN OF THE TIMES WORKSHOP - Bring along a toy!

Unicorn Fun Palace is asking children “what would you do if you could change the world?”

Make sure you bring along an unwanted soft toy, teddy, doll or action figure so you can take part in our Sign of the Times workshop with artist Bernadette Russell. Using the time honoured medium of the placard, the desires and hopes of the children of London will be heard! You and your toy will become part of a mass movement for change! We’ll be donating all toys to a local children’s charity after the event – so please bring along toys you are willing to give away.

Age range: 6+
Time: From 10.30am. This is a drop-in activity, there no need to book.

Run your own science experiments

Local biomedical research scientists will be leading mischievous science experiments for you to get your hands on.

Make slime, find out how elephant toothpaste is made, extract DNA from fruit, or listen to an interactive talk about biomedical monsters.

Time: From 10.30am, there will be various experiments running throughout the day for various ages.

A Southwark Adventure

You and your family can take an adventure in the neighbourhood of the Unicorn Theatre. A group of local young people is working with interactive theatre company Coney to create together this unique experience, ready to be shared with the community at Unicorn Fun Palace. Your mobile phone will be magically transformed into a guide for you and companions on an exciting journey of discovery, helping you see Southwark in a new light. Bring along your smart phone and a pair of headphones.
Age range:
For all ages.
Under 13 year olds need to be accompanied by an adult. Participants aged 13 - 15 need a signed consent form if taking part unaccompanied (consent forms available on the day).

A Southwark Adventure will be bookable between 11am- 3.30pm on the day. Come dressed for a walk outdoors, in whatever the weather.
