Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and creative marketing and communications specialist to maintain and grow the organisation’s profile, reach and reputation.

The Unicorn Theatre is the UK’s leading theatre for children, with a national and international reputation for creating excellent and innovative new work for schools and families. The Director of Marketing & Communications provides key support in delivering the Unicorn’s vision to transform young lives through theatre.

This senior role leads on the development and delivery of the organisation’s brand, and audience development, sales and engagement strategies. You will oversee marketing and communications campaigns for projects and productions onstage and online, ensuring excellent customer service across all touchpoints.

You will work closely with staff across the organisation, particularly with the Executive Team, the Producers, and Engagement, Fundraising and Technical & Production Directors. You will have departmental responsibility for a core team of staff across Marketing, Front of House and Box Office (including a wider customer-facing team of around 40 casual staff), and maintain relationships with multiple partners, including three key freelancers (Design, Press and Website Project Management).
