Play in a Week 2016

A Unicorn event

Get on stage and make your own show.

We are running four week-long theatre workshops during the Summer holidays. Each has a different theme, from learning to perform a show to devising a play and working with the technical team to design a production.

Led by experienced professional theatre-makers, these intensive and fun workshops will culminate in a performance on the Unicorn stage to an audience of family and friends.

Mon 18 – Fri 22 Jul, for ages 7-10

Over the week, you will learn and rehearse a play specifically written and designed for young people to perform.  You will be supported by the older age range Play in a Week participants who will provide your lighting, sound and all technical elements.

Mon 18 Jul – Fri 22 Jul, for ages 11-14

Interested in what happens behind-the-scenes? Learn production and technical skills and create the lighting, sound and set for the play created by the younger group. You will be mentored by professionals and see your hard work presented on stage at the end of the week.

Mon 25  – Fri 29 Jul, for ages 7-10

Work together to devise a show inspired by our Greek season of Minotaur and My Father, Odysseus. During the devised process the company will work towards a piece based on their favourite characters and stories from traditional Greek mythology.

Mon 25  – Fri 29 Jul, for ages 11-14

Learn, rehearse and perform a piece of contemporary writing designed especially for young people.
