A family day out with Planet Omar at Unicorn Theatre
Looking for the perfect half-term day out in London? This season, we’re excited to welcome families to our purpose-built children’s theatre in the heart of London Bridge for a joyful theatre trip and a chance to explore one of the city’s most iconic riverside neighbourhoods.
Whether the sun’s shining or the weather takes a turn, here’s our guide to making the most of your visit with children aged 7+.
Start your adventure at Unicorn Theatre
Join us for Planet Omar, a vibrant, funny and heart-warming theatre experience that brings Zanib Mian’s beloved books to life on stage.
Before the show, make yourself at home in our Front of House spaces. Arrive early and enjoy:
- Our new LEGO play pit
- A colouring competition for a chance to win a family ticket
- Delicious range of ice creams, ice coffees in our AC family friendly spaces
- Spectacular views of The Shard
And with Unicorn Theatre just a five-minute walk from London Bridge station, getting here couldn’t be easier.
Make the most of the riverside
If the weather’s on your side, London Bridge offers plenty to turn your theatre trip into a full family day out.
Just around the corner from Unicorn Theatre is Potters Fields Park, a brilliant picnic spot with open green space and one of London’s most iconic views of Tower Bridge.
From there, take a riverside stroll and discover some of London’s historic landmarks, including:
- HMS Belfast
- The Golden Hinde
- Open spaces along the river where children can run, play and explore
For an extra adventure, hop on the Thames Clipper from Tower Bridge and travel along the river to Westminster. It’s one of the best ways to see London from the water and gives children a different view of the city’s famous landmarks along the route. Arriving at Westminster means stepping off with an incredible view of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, a memorable way to round off your family day out.
Whether you explore before the show or continue the adventure afterwards, the riverside around Unicorn Theatre makes it easy to turn a theatre visit into a full day of discovery this half-term!
