Frequently asked questions

We understand that bringing your baby to the theatre for the first time can be a big step. Here are some of our frequently asked questions about the show, to help you plan your trip with confidence.

We want your baby to have a great first experience of theatre, so we’ve set our age guidance to reflect this (6-18 months). The show will be sensory and a very new environment for a lot of little ones (and parents). We want everyone to feel relaxed, so this means not overwhelming our very youngest audience members by admitting children who might be slightly too old to the performance.

How long is the show?
The performance runs for approx 25mins, followed by approx 15mins playtime.

Where will we sit?
You and your baby will sit on clearly marked floor seating on quilted mats, or benches at the back for those who find it difficult to sit on the floor. You have to reserve specific seating when you book, and we ask that you and your baby remain in your chosen seating throughout the show.

Does my baby need to be quiet?
No! Babies can respond however they like - gurgling, laughing, commenting (if they’ve started talking), or hiccupping! If your baby does get restless, we often find that by you simply standing up and moving slightly further away, relaxes them enough for them to stay watching the performance. Obviously, if your baby gets really upset, then it’s a good idea to take them outside but you’re very welcome to come back at any time.

Can I breast-feed during the show?
Absolutely! Breast and bottle feeding are welcome throughout.

Is there somewhere to change my baby?
We have baby changing facilities on the basement and on levels 2 and 3.

Where will I park my pram/buggy?
You can park your buggy in the designated area in the foyer. We have limited space, so you may be asked to collapse your buggy in the event of a busy performance.

What drinks and snacks are available?
A range of sweet and savoury snacks, hot and cold drinks, ice creams are available before and after the show from our Tuck Shop. We do ask you to avoid eating in the auditorium where possible, although if you need to give your baby a quick snack if they're getting upset then please do.
